Here are the groups of people that the Youth Week org comm '07 would like to thank. Without them, RIdentity would not have been such a success.

1. AV Staff
Who helped us a lot with setting up the auditorium for movie screenings, lending of the video camera for the Jack’d! Show and the setting up of the portable projector in the canteen in an attempt to screen the show.

2. Estate Department
For providing us with all the detailed logistical support that we couldn’t have done without to make Youth Week a success.

3. PE Department
For lending us the sports equipments used in our activities.

4. Science Labs
Lending us the science apparatuses used during our activities.

5. Goalkeepers
Imran, Pathy, Dillon, Jason Pang for helping us be goalkeepers during the Free Kick Challenge.

6. RIPB
Mr. Teo for helping us vet through our proposals and settle all our requirements with the school, and the prefects for providing their full support.

7. Teachers
For their help in ensuring that we keep up with our work throughout Youth Week, and especially to Mr. Edward Ng who came down to take the Free Kick Challenge as well.

8. Students
And finally, you students who came to join in all our activities. Without your support, Youth Week ’07 would not have been possible.

Here's a great thank you from all of us, and do look forward to RI Youth Week 2008.

Mufti Week

A very late evening to you ladies and gentlemen!

Since this is the first Mufti Week ever, heres a brief guidelines.

First up, tuesday, you will be coming in your ever dependable school uniform! unfortunately, your public identity as a student is tied down to this wonderful garment for 6 years in RI and RJC, so cherish it well.....

Next up, for Wednesday, its CCA shirt time! With CCA being such an integral part of our RI lives (for good or for bad), wednesday you can come in your CCA shirt plus your school pants or PE shorts! Since Wednesday is a CCA day, this eliminates your need to bring extra sets of clothing!
(note: swimming trunks and goggles optional)

Thursday get ready to see the school compound awash in the house colors of Red, Blue Green, Yellow and Black! Thats right folks, come in your house shirts and school/PE pants, and bring some color into your lives!

Alas, all good things have to come to an end, and we are capping up youth week with RIdentity mufti, where you can come in anything decent so long as your have a visible garment that's either Green, Black or White( no we are not going to look into your underpants).

With that, have a pleasant youth week ahead! Hopefully we wont see any wardrobe malfunctions!

Pokemon

I choose you, Pikachu!

For Wonderful Wednesday, be sure not to miss the prelims of the Pokemon Battle Competition!

Although the Pokemon Series has been around for quite a long time, it still remains popular, and lets face it, an unforgettable part of our youth. Who can forget the countless hours we spent training our Pokemon, slaying enemies with impunity, and crying over our dead Pokemon?(joking). This Wednesday, we give you a chance to relive the good old days, with countless of cudly but dangerous monsters to boot.

Anyway, to the details!:

  • Held on both recesses (and possibly lunch) on Wednesday
  • Top 8 moves on to finals on Fabulous Friday
  • Bring your own Gameboys! We dont have spares (donations anyone?)
  • Only Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/Fire Red/ Leaf Green allowed.
  • 3 Pokemon on 3 Pokemon battles, Pokemon selection undisclosed to opponent.
  • No item use allowed, but your pokemon are allowed to hold items.
  • No more than 1 legendary pokemon on each team.
  • All 3 pokemon must be different.
Here are the prizes!

  • 1st Prize: GV Movie Voucher
  • 2nd Prize: Soft Toy (eek cuddly!)
  • 3rd Prize: A figurine! (details to be confirmed, but dont worry, we wont be giving you barbie dolls).
Thats it for now, enjoy yourselves guys!

Rubik's Cube Competition

Hello ladies and Gentlemen!

Tonight, I present to you guys more details about our first competition, the Rubik's Cubes Contest!

So fellow Rafflesians, if you have been naughty recently and gotten your cubes confiscated, now would be a good time to try and talk the teacher out of holding on to your precious squares of mathematical logic.

With more and more students playing with Rubik's Cubes these days, these cubes are springing up more and more everywhere, from the tabletops of hyperactive students to the decorations of the teacher's staff rooms, providing a testament to the popularity of this uniquely Rafflesian toy.

Anyway, back to the contest!

Venue
School Canteen
Time
Both Recesses
What to bring
Your own 3x3 rubik's cube (if you have. we have spares for those who dont). It would be helpful if it was pre-solved, as we will be jumbling up all the cubes in the same way to ensure that the contest is fair.
What to expect
We will give you back your cube all jumbled out, and your timing will start. The time ends when you completely solves the cube. The 8 fastest solvers will qualify for the finals on Fabulous Friday, where it will be a intense competitive round.
Format
We will be jumbling up your cube with 40 different moves and thereby handing it back to you. After which, you have 15 seconds to look at it before your time begins. There will only be 1 time taken. Aim to the fastest 8 to qualify for finals on Fri!
Prizes!!!
1st Place: Title of fastest Rubik's Cube Solver in RI, limited edition cube!
2nd Place: Cube Lubricant ( so that you can solve faster next time =P)
3rd Place: Cube stickers
Plus the top 5 places gets wristbands!

So, till next time, happy memorising of cube sequences!
